Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Hi friends,

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. My weekend is also going pretty well although I am trying to spend as much time as I can relaxing and not doing pretty much anything. I know, I know.... weekends are to enjoy and to spend time with all your friends and family. But since I had a very stressful week at the lab (I am a PhD student, so you can imagine), I think I deserve some calm.

And keeping in mind this week's Mo Digital blog's fun and fabulous challenge which is Don't be Square, I decided to play with my Winter Fairy Halla stamp.

Supplies: Fairy Winter stamp, Copics, Wow glitter, Ribbon, White paint, 2 Patterned Papers,  Cardstock, and Distress Inks.

At first I didn't know which shape I wanted to use (a Christmas sock, tree, wreath...) but  I really like how this project turned out in the end. Isn't the Snowflake shaped card cute? And it is also very versatile: you can use it as a Christmas Card, as a Christmas decoration or even as a centerpiece.

This is how I manage to pop it out. As you can see from my previous card I like to create a 3-D kind of image or just to try to give it some dimension.

As you can also appreciate from the photo, I didn't use Copics this time to color the Fairy clothing. Instead, I stamped the image on the same patterned paper as the one I used for the Snowflake to link the fairy to the winter background. For the fluffy sock ties I used a red patterned paper to give him more personality.

Well, the weather outside is frightful, but the browser is so delightful.
And since we've no place to go,
Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow.
Hugs,

  Boo

Believe in the Magic of Christmas

Hi friends,

although we are still in the middle of November, it is starting to smell like Christmas around town!! Don't you think? And I couldn't be more excited!! I love Christmas lights, all the beautiful decorations around the town and of course all the Christmas goodies that the markets are now starting to sell. So this weekend I decided to play with my own homemade Christmas cards and decorations...or with both combined in the same projects!

This time I chose this Winter Fairy from Penny Black. Actually these fairies are designed from the incredible Mo Manning. They are gorgeous!

Supplies: Fairy Winter stamp, Copics, Snowflake punch from Martha Stewart, Wow glitter, Feathers, Ribbon Flowers and Felt flowers, Sleight bell, American crafts Ribbon, Distress Inks.

Lately I have been a little obsessed with two colors: aqua mint and strawberry-like-red. They are very soft colors and they combined really well together.

Also, the other day I went to a little crafty shop at my hometown where I found these awesome feathers of different colors and the tiny bottles which I filled with some fairy dust!! They are just perfect for this fairy theme project.
Do you see also the little red sleight bell between the Winter tickets?

Here there is a close up of the stamped imaged which I colored with copics.

Copics: B000, BG11, BG13,E00, E11,  E13, E15, E18,  R20, R22, R27, R29

I hope you are getting ready for some good Christmas!!

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.” ― Lewis Carrol

Love is in the air...

Hi Friends,
Today I created a love card dedicated for all kind of loves: new loves, summer loves, old loves,  for the ones that are ready to make a step forward,  and even for the fall loves because Leaves may Fall but Love does not falter...

Supplies: Penny Black Stamp, Copics, Distress Ink, Cardstock,Dear Lizzy embelishments, Ribbon, Patterned Paper.
Do you see those butterflies? ...from the first instance you felt them ... but they sometimes fly away, make sure you hold on tight to your love because cold days are on the way.

And there is no better way to pass the winter than to find a cozzy spot together and wait for the butterflies of spring to arrive again...

Hugs,

Boo

Enjoy the little things

Since I was a little girl I have always had a great passion for crafting and painting. I discovered that as I got older it allowed me to take a step back from everyday life and relax. Crafting and Painting not only entertains me but also brings joy to my friends and family.  Everyone who knows me can tell you very well, that I love to create cute things with paper or with anything that I can find at home. It has always been a big part of my personality. At my School, I was even known as the Art Attack girl.

So, I decided to start a little blog to share my crafty creations.

Today I created a card to symbolize this new beginning. The stamp that I used is from Penny Black and I colored it with Copics Sketch Markers. I love these naughty mice!

Supplies: Penny Black Stamp, Copics, Distress Ink, Cardstock, Ribbon, Patterned Paper.

Welcome and enjoy!

Hugs,

Boo
