Remember you are loved

What a happy day!!

Yesterday was such a good day that when I got home I made a happy/party card to say : remember you are loved! Because sometimes people forget about this. And it is always fun to say I LOVE YOU ;)  This could be also a cute insert  (4x6) on a Project Life spread on these summer days.

It is such a simple design that it only took like 15 minutes to finish it. To make something like this you will only need:
- kraft paper
- doilies
- stickers
- twine
- little stamps

One thing that I LOVE to do is to add different textures and dimensions. It could make a kind of lame page look totally different.

Fun in the sun

Good afternoon everyone,

Today I am sharing the second card/home decor that I made a couple of weeks ago. And is it the second one? The second one of what? Well this is part of a three card pack so to see the first one click here and for the third one...you will have to wait one week more ;)

I made this inspired on the days when my sister was buying new things for the baby room. And I decided to try to do some cute cards that can be framed as well and placed on a baby's room wall. Don't you think these could be part of the decoration?

Before I started playing with the beautiful fairy image from Mo's Digital Pencil, which I colored with Copics, I decided which elements I wanted to have on the card:

- big and pop-out embellishment
- punched butterflies
- handmade card (with paint)
- gold glitter
- hello sunshine banner
- spring relatedstamp
- 3 different but coordinated washi tapes
- 3 enamel dots (color shades)

So on the next photos I will show you all these elements...can you spot them?

Although, I normally do layouts of different projects with photos and memories once in a while I love to color or draw pretty images and create beautiful cards or gifts to makes the ones I love happy! It really lets me be more creative and feel like a kid again when I was drawing all the time in my school books.

Eat, drink and be happy!

Hello y'all!

Today I am here to show you one of my other passions: food! Ok. I will explain this. Although my family and friends says I eat like a bird (tiny amounts of food but more times a day than they usually do) I looooove to discover places by their local food. And I love sweeeeeeets, mostly cupcakes but shhhhh do not tell anyone. ;)

So for this page a chose a photo of me and my boyfriend eating some good BBQ at a local place in Austin, TX this past year. And I decided to make the background as a table with some food splatters and a typical striped napkin.

The quote is simple: eat, drink and be happy and that is what I do! Definitely I am not one of those girls who is always worried about their weight. I enjoy cooking and eating and discovering new good places to go with my friends and have a quick lunch or a fun dinner.

Then, I added some cute embellishments like the bottle cup and the banners. I specially love the Amy Tangerine camera stamp, perfect to document a moment and to give more importance to the photo. I also love the Amy Tangerine Kraft paper on the back of the photo.

Finally, I write down some journaling of the place and food (mmmmmmhhh delicious) and I added that cute Officially Documented stamp from BananaFishStudio. Awesome!

Be in love with your life...every minute of it

Hello!

today I am sharing a beautiful project inspired by some Wilna Furstenberg 's work. Lately she has been showing some techniques (art inspired) like the use of thirds on a page. That is what I wanted to try to do in this one.

I chose a photo from our last summer vacation together. We went to Scotland and as you may know some days can get really cold and rainy over there even in August. So that day was one of those days.  I came up with this quote that I found in Pinterest: Be in love with your life ... every minute of it. And I thought that would be perfect for the sentiment of this photo. Because even though it was a bad weather day we had so much fun and we have so many happy memories of it.

I chose some Dear Lizzy's 5th and Frolic details and paper as a soft background for the photo. I think this is a good collection with a lovely color scheme for a soft and relax and comfortable project. Love the tag with the die-cut word.  As I don't have a Silhouette machine I like to buy this kind of things. The sketch is really simple: one third of the page covered with a patterned paper and between the white space and the paper I crowded some embellishments. This also was inspired by Wilna's work.

The little clouds remind me of the grey skys of that day and the Mr' Huesys splashes resemble the raindrops. But I added some gold sequins as little spots of sunshine which are in concordance with the quote: find the light in every situation.

I hope you like it and that you find some inspiration in this quote as well.

Bright colors

Good morning everyone,

Feeling good on a Saturday morning! I looooove those moments when you feel you could sleep all day  'cause you don't have to wake up early to go to work...lovely!

Today I am sharing a beautiful card/home decor that I made a couple of weeks ago. This is actually part of a trio...so don't miss out next posts if you wanna see the whole pack ;) I made this inspired on the days when my sister was buying new things for the baby room.

- hello sunshine banner
- spring relatedstamp
- 3 different but coordinated washi tapes
- 3 enamel dots (color shades)

So on the next photos I will show you all these elements...can you spot them?

Fun, right? In the end I got excited and I created 3 of them!! ...as I mentioned before and you will be able to find those elements on the other two cards although in different color shades and with different fairies.

Hello summer!

Today is the day!

It is official! The summer is here!!!  I feel again like a little girl on the day when the school is out...what is not to like? I mean...the weather is better, days are longer, I can wear pretty dresses, I can go on a picnic and I can eat ice-cream and delicious fruits all the time!

So as it is my favorite season (because I like Christmas but not winter hehe) I made a happy/party card to say : hello summer, please be good!! This could be also a cute insert on a Project Life spread on these summer days.

I have mostly used Dear Lizzy Neapoliatn collection from American Crafts. I think it is my favorite collection of all time. It has so many pretty colors, textures and designs and its theme is based on celebrations, picnics, bike rides and beach days. My favorite!!

And I was so sad to hear that they will stop producing more of it... so I went online and I order as many ruffled paper as I felt that it will be enough for the future. Don't you love it too? To create this card I had to cut the 12x12 paper into each stripe and then place them in a 4x6 card.

Then I added the die-cut tag and the cute thickers from Amy Tangerine. To combine with the background I placed a tiny yellow bottom on the o of hello. So it looks like a bright sun. And an ice-cream that I cut from one of the papers from the same collection.

To make it look more like a celebration card I added some banners on top. The final touch came with the little stamped sentiments and the twine. Perfect!!

Please visit my other post of the day and don't forget to visit the other girls projects as part as today's Blog Hop of Kits de Somni website.

Enjoy!

Salt in the air, sand in my hair

Hello summer lovers,

Today I am sharing this project as a part of a Blog Hop of the Kits de Somni website (check their post to see the other projects). This is a really good place to buy kits every month in Spain. They have all the trendy stuff of each month. So if you live in Spain don't hesitate to check their website to find inspiration, challenges or to buy some of their products.

The Blog hop this time is focused on: Summer Projects!!!  yaaaaaay so ready for this summer now that the rain has almost disappeared. I love to go to the beach, have fun in a picnic afternoon or just enjoying the sunset with a yummy ice-cream. What do you love the most about summer?

So, here is my Summer project. I chose the beautiful collection of Crate Paper The Pier. It is a vintage summer themed collection with so many cute papers and embellishments. Definitely one of my favorites right now. Don´t you love it too? For the sketch I play with banners with multiple layers. I wanted to try this technique for a long time and I thought that it could go very well with this photo and with this collection... and I had so much fun!!

The banner on top it came already stitched in the embellishment pack, so great!!! Also, have you seen the Geotag? It is also a trendy detail to add in your projects. It is just perfect to add the location where the photo was taken.

Although I am not a huge fan of layering, I love how it turned out. I normally go with less embellishments or layers (I do like to keep things clear and simple but not minimalist) but I am still finding my style as well so it is fun to try other techniques and see how you can take them in to your style.

I hope to see soon around here and please enjoy the sun in summer!! I will definitely do ;)

Follow me!

Hello there,

How has your summer been? Too much tan already? I am having great days on vacation... Oh, God! It feels so good when you just don't have to wake up so early to go to work...
So, I am trying to get full advantage of these days. And as I have more free time for myself as well I am here today to share this page that I made a few weeks ago. No scrapbooking today, just making more happy memories to scrap later ;)

This page is about the ride bikes that I love to take once in a while, with my fiends, boyfriend or even by myself (but I prefer to go with someone so I can chat). I was looking for using a combination of mint and yellow  and  outdoor theme so I thought that the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm paper with those cute clouds and the air ballon will go pretty well with this.

Then I just grabbed some other papers from the same collection and play with the sketch that I had in mind. Sometimes when you are a bit in a rush to do a project is easier if you just go with the same collection for the whole page.  I like how the black color give the page a little bit of drama. And the little journaling and the stamped phrases combined pretty well with the ones on top ( next to the clouds).

Anyway, I played around with some stamped triangles and hand-cut circles.  To stamp the triangles I used a potate....what? Yes! a potate. I use to do this a lot when I was a kid. If you haven't try this yet, it is really fun! I just like the way it looks. If you have kids around try it with them and with different shapes, they will love it too!

Then I added some little cute wood bikes. Love them!! I don't know if you can appreciate the different size of the bikes. I just wanted to emphasize how funny must be to see me on a boy's bike...they are always too tall for me!!

For today this is enough scrapbooking, let's make some gooooood memories to scrap on the rainy days!

xoxo

Welcome to the world

Dear Irati,

I am so happy that you are here at last! We are all so happy to meet you!

This is my niece Irati, she is a beautiful baby who arrived on the 26th of May. We were all so excited because she is the first baby in the family (close family) since we were all kids. So happy for my sister, she is so cute!!

This pink ómbre paper it is just the perfect paper for a baby page. It is again from the Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm collection. You can find in it different patterns for boy and girl. Love it! This one is soft and girly and it combines so well with white. This color combination is the one chosen also for Irati's new room so I think it will go well with it.

To make this floral white pattern I used one of the Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm die-cut as a mask. Then I painted it with acrylic paint and let it dry. If you try this be sure to keep the cardstock well attached to your page, otherwise you will get the design all mixed up.

After that, I start adding the layers and I hand cut some leaves to give it some texture. I tried to make them similar with the ones of the floral background. Beautiful!!

To add a bit of journaling I write down the name, date, weight... of the day she was born. At first, I made a pocket to add a secret tag but in the end I make a little window to see through the pocket so it is possible to read it without pulling in out. Then I use some thickers to write her name and finally I stamped the date when those photo were taken.

Now I have realized that I can't barely finish a page without using some date or rolling stamp. IT is just the perfect detail. Do you use this a lot too?

Welcome to the world Irati! Your auntie who loves you!!

Deep in the heart of texas

Howdy!

Today I am sharing the first page of my album of all time scrapbooking! The moment when everything changed and a new chapter in my life started. This doesn't mean that this is the first page that I made, it is actually one of the last ones. I decided that I wanted to start scrapbooking the happy moments in my life since 3 years ago.

This is one of the first photos that I took during my first days in Austin, TX. I went there almost 3 years ago (wooow...time flies) as a exchange student for one year to finish my undergraduate studies in Biochemistry in UT.

That was definitely one of the best years in my life. I met a lot different people from so many different countries over there,  I made such good friends, I visit so many cool places and I had so much fun and experiences and also I met my boyfriend there. So I soon became a Texas lover and this is my page to my adored Texas.

As you can see on the right top of the page I write down the song called Deep in the heart of Texas... such a Texan song! I used one of the Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm stamp which was perfect to give and idea that what I wrote it is actually a song.

I played with a sketch from my Happiescrappie friend. Have you check her blog? I love her work!! She has a lot of great sketchy ideas and color palettes and it is so much fun and inspiration to see her projects.

So once I had the sketch and the photo I look for some earthy papers at my stash and some Texan embellishments.  Most of them and from several collection from Studio Calico as the wood alphabet. Isn't it perfect for this? I wanted to add also some twine and threads as the ones that the cowboys use. It was so much fun playing with these layering too!

I also used a BananaFishStudio stamp (Adventure - ready·set·go) which goes perfect with the theme.

If you ever have the chance to visit Austin, TX, go! do not hesitate it! There some many outdoors activities, so many places to visit, party or live music places and delicious food....

You are pretty much my most favorite of all time in the history of ever!

Hello again,

I just wanted to share this layout before I forget. It is one of my favorites of all time because of the happy colors and shapes in it. I love the quoted also, too cute! Everytime I go to Austin (TX) we take a phto in front of that wall...so right now I already have a bunch of those and it is funny how we all changes though the seasons and years. At some point I will make a summing up page!

I made this layout inspired by the pretty, bright and so colorful page from The Pier collection of Crate Paper that I used as the background. Love it!!! At first I just cut the white cardstock 1 inch at the borders. But I wasn't too happy with that because you could only appreciate a little bit of the paper. So I decided to cut an inside window as a way to show it a little bit more. Then

I added the photo which have so many greens and shiny colors that I decided to go with the same colors for the embellishments; mostly orange, rednish pink and yellow. As I used a card with ballons I tried to used the same shapes with the embellishments (mostly Sundrifter flowers and banners from Studio Calico). I think it really has a party or celebration atmosphere. Just perfect for the sentiment. I also used 2 alphabets of the new alphabet from Crate Paper too. They are so much fun. I have used them in so many ways but you will have to wait to see more of these.

As you can see I am also a huge fan of the Dear Lizzy's collections. But not only I use it a lot because I adore all her designs but also because I won the Lucky Charm collection as a prize on the American Crafts website!! Can you believe this? So I have Dear Lizzy pretty things for years :P

Finally, I created a shiny background inspired by the latest Wilna's In the mood to scrap video on 2peas in a bucket. I created it with white acrylic paint and some gold glitter. Love ths technique!I have learnt literally A LOT from her... although I haven't taken her class yet... but probably this summer because I have heard that is is totally worth it!
