Autumn

Good morning!

In a couple of hours I 'll be catching a plane again but before that, I wanted to share with you guys this beautiful page about the autumn because... it is finally here! A couple of weeks ago I went to Scotland and London on vacation and I felt pretty jealous because they were already having all the autumn fun stuff, like the falling of the leaves. But now, that time of the year has already arrived to my city. yaaaaaay!

So as I was already in that mood, I decided to create a page inspired by the autumn (I love using the word autumn because it sounds much prettier to me hehe).

I love all type of woodgrain things like this cardstock. So I couldn't resist using this one from the new line of Dear Lizzy. I decided to use it horizontally because of the way I placed the photo. Then I played with some acrylic paints. The color combo was totally inspired by the classic autumn color combo: yellow, orange and brown. Have you ever use this color combo on a page before? If not you should! It is so much fun.

I searched on my stash things to go with the theme and luckily I found some old Amy Tangerine's leaves in yellow, orange and earth colors. So great!!! I also wanted to add some papers on the top part of the page and again, luckily I found the perfect paper for that from the latest Studio Calico line Thataway. Awesome!!!

To add some texture to the page I played with some wood veneers, canvas and black elements around the page to contrast the bright colors. I also added some stamping here and there and a bit of journaling about what this season means to me right now.

Have you spotted the little black frame from Crate Paper? Such a cute detail to add another interesting point above the photo. It is a good element to contrast the cute sticker from Glitz designs placed down the photo.

Thanks for looking and have a great Monday!

Just a note

Hello,
Today I bring you a very short post but with a lot of significance to me.
If you are a follower of the Two Peas in a Bucket awesome website (check it out here), you may have already seen this month's theme: "all about me". So, inspired by that, I decided to create a page about how I feel right now.

At first, I thought of printing just a large black and white photo of myself and then play around with some embellishments and journaling. But in the end, I preferred to add some digital splashes and journaling before printing it out. I really like how it turned out because although it has a lot of color splashes it didn't end up like a total mess.

The journaling totally reflects myself at 25 but without being too private. I also chose a typewriter blurry font because... I don't know, it looked fun to me hehe From there, I layered die cuts, buttons, stickers and wood veneers.

Thanks for looking!

Runaway with me

Hello Fellows!

Today I bring you such a fun project! Made with the new collection from Studio Calico, Thataway. I am so in love with this collection, it is definitely my favorite one from this season. It's just perfect! Not only for those traveling days but also for the everyday moments. And the colors...OMG! There are so many color combinations! Just like the ones I am showing you today. The warm combo: yellow, orange and pink. I chose this pretty USA map as the background to focus on where the photo took place.

It combines really well with the cold color combo: mint, blue, black. You can see it on the title and on the background paper. So beautiful!! I love the quote: Runaway with me! Oh my...how many times have I thought about this! Haven't you?

As you may already noticed, the feathers are a total trend this season. So I couldn't avoid using them in this page. I love the care free life-style they portray, which feels so close to my own life-style. I added some small pieces with neutral colors around the photo, to make the photo pop a bit, but without having them take the attention away from the map.

I hope you had the chance to spot the compass, the Lone Star and the cacti, which go so well with the theme of this project, I felt. One of the great things about the Collection is the little notes, quotes that you can find through the paper designs, the die-cuts and the stickers. So dreamy!

I wanted to somehow pop out the Texas area so I cut it out from the rest of the map and pointed with some cute arrows and quotes. Yay!

The little labels are so cute, I feel they add a vintage look. I also tried to combine with some color from the college I went there and with a cute wood heart. I can't live without wood veneers!

Are u you lookin' at me?

Hello!!
And welcome back for another scrapbooking project. Oh man... I love this hobby! I love the creativity it involves, taking pretty pictures (a fact which I have always enjoyed) and just having fun creating memories. When I was a kid my dad used to take a lot of photos of our family when we traveled. It was always so exciting but then when we arrived back home, and he printed out the photos, most of the times they were forgotten in a drawer. A lot of them without dates, most of them all mixed up. So all this made it difficult for me and my sister to look through them years later. And I think that scrapbooking my travels or just some everyday moments in a chronological way is my way to not repeat the same mistakes.

Ok. Now todays' page. :)

I started building my page with a Kraft cardstock. And I mixed it with some white and mint-pinkish floral pattern paper from the 5th and Frolic Dear Lizzy collection from last fall. This collection is too cute and it coordinates really well with her new collection Polkadot Party from this fall. So it is a good way to not focus on only one collection, but to mix and match several with the same feeling.

Have you spotted that gorgeous vellum and gold camera? It was the perfect match for the photo. The picture was taken a few weeks ago. And why my funny face? Well, my boyfriend took so many photo of  me that day that I started laughing and asking him: Why r u taking so many photos of me?

To match the gold camera I used some gold thickers, that way the gold would not be all focused on one spot. I love how the colors flow through this page. In fact I normally try to use a color in different ways or spots to combine everything and have it all well balanced on my pages.

I love how the Thataway thickers resemble the black ink that I normally use for stamping. They look very well together! Wouldn't you agree?

And again, I love this hobby! This is for you future Olatz! Don't you ever forget about your story ;)
