Accidentally in love

Hello!

This is my third post of the week! Yaaaay!! I can't believe it, as I have been working a lot lately. However I feel like lately I have been organizing my time a lot better. Because it seems I can find time for everything! Although at 10 pm I feel totally exhausted... It's a crazy time in the year, I guess!

Today I want to show you what I came up with after seeing this month's Kits de Somni Color Challenge.

The palette of colors is so pretty and bright that I could't resist creating a layout based on this. It remind me of the Fall season without all the reds and brownish colors. What do you think?

So, I started with a basic Digital Sketch from Studio Calico from a few months ago. This one really caught my eye with the splatters and the photo shape.

I also added the sentiment following the sketch. I chose one of my favorite songs of all time: Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows. I think it is from the Soundtrack of Shrek 2. I just love the lyrics, they always cheer me up and make me smile.

After that, I printed the layout and added some blue cardstock as a background. As they were to plain and I didn't want to use any patterned paper (the white cardstock was bold enough) I played with some white splatters here and there to make it coordinate with the splashes from the digital sketch.

To finish the page I added some orange embellishments; mainly vellum die-cuts. I combined them with some wood veneers and with a few stamping.

Thanks for watching and I leave you here the link to listen to this awesome song that inspired my layout.

A limitless love story

Hello,

Today I wanted to share with you a different project that I made a couple of weeks ago. Well different but at the same time the same, because I made it with the same aim: document our happy moments together. Some of you may have already seen it on Instagram as I couldn't wait to share it. I was so pleased with the result!

I made a digital photo book with Artifact Uprising. I looked around at a few different options and I fell in love with Artifact Uprising when I saw Stephanie Brian's book, for a Week in the Life project (find it here). I chose the 5x5 inch softcover book and I went with a very simple approach. I tried to make it as a kind of story-book so I sorted my photos chronologically and on each page, and I wrote what the story was about on that page.

I also love the fact that you can place the photos on each page in many different ways. This way the page doesn't become plain or crammed with photos. I also found the size of the book very convenient as a gift. I actually made it for my boyfriend to keep it always with him, due to the fact that he travels a lot. I know that sometimes it is complicated to take on scrapbooking memories on a trip as they may fall apart...

Next, are a few detailed photos of some of the pages

Just a tip if you ever decide to make one of these... Keep it simple!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
xoxo

Hopdaddy (#throwback thursday)

Hi y'all!!

Today I bring you another Fall layout as I am totally in love with this season. I made this page a while ago, although, I don't remember exactly when. But I know for sure it was one of the first layouts that I've ever made. So please be kind :) (as you may have already noticed, I also photographed it some while ago with, maybe not the best camera, or lighting conditions... but hey! I was still learning about all these techniques…) To be honest, I just wanted to share this one with you because it is one great moment in my life. The discovery of Hopdoddy’s made me smile from ear to ear. It was a bit funny when I looked through all my albums and I found this layout, which I had completely overlooked before. I love throwback thursday!!

I know that a lot of you have enjoyed the first snow of the season, but here on the North Coast of Spain we are just barely starting to feel the cold and the rain. So to keep it a little bit cozy, I normally try to wear multiple layers and that is what you will find in this page too.

I remember that I really had a lot of fun using different materials such as paper, canvas, ribbon, fabric and thread on this page. I was lucky enough to find a malleable thread for this project. Isn't that heart the cutest thing ever?

I also used some Amy Tangerine's cutest leaves to add a bit of interesting texture. I loved them so much that I hoarded some of them until this Fall season where I ended up up using them (you can find here where I used them).

I love adding memorabilia to my pages because, again, when I look through them in the future I will still remember all the good moments that made me decide to spend some time to create this memory.
