Hello,

I am here again with another Scrapaddictes' Monthly Challenge. Can you guess the theme of their September challenge just by looking at my page? ;)

Exactly. Stitch!! Here you can see the official post and have a look on the projects of the entire Design Team. And remember you have until the end of the month to submit your work and win a coupon of 10 euros to spend at their shop. 

As I don't have an stitching machine, I decided to hand stitch some fun stars all over the page. I chose to use a white twine because I love to add tone on tone detail. Also by using white the page still remains soft and dreamy without an overwhelming background.

To make this kind of stitching, I first drew first the star shapes with a pencil to be able to erase it later. Then, and I punched holes on the tips of the stars. Finally, I passed the twine through the wholes with the help of a needle and I attached the loose ends on the back of the cardstock with washi tape.

To complete the page I added two layers of papers behind my photo and I stitched one big star on top of them. Then I added my title and a few embellishments which matched the colors of my niece's toys.  I love how she is becoming such a cute little chatter ;)

Hola, 

Estoy aquí de nuevo con otro desafío mensual de Scrapaddictes. ¿Adivináis el tema del desafío de septiembre con sólo mirar mi página? ;) 

Exacto. El tema es cosido. Aquí podéis ver la entrada oficial y podréis echar un vistazo a los proyectos del equipo de diseño al completo. Y recuerda que tienes hasta el final del mes para presentar su trabajo y tener la posibilidad de ganar un cupón de 10 euros para gastar en su tienda. 

Como no tengo máquina de coser, decidí coser a mano algunas estrellas por toda la página. Opté por usar un cordel blanco: porque me encanta añadir detalles blancos sobre fondo blanco. Así el efecto sigue siendo suave y sin sin ser muy recargado aunque los detalles tengan un buen tamaño. 

Para hacer este tipo de cosido, lo primero que hice fue dibujar la forma de las estrellas para saber donde hacer los agujeros, pero las hice con un lápiz para poder borrarlo después. Después de hacer los agujeros con la punta de una tijera, pasé el hilo a través de los agujeros con la ayuda de una aguja y até los cabos sueltos en la parte posterior de la cartulina con washi tape. 

Para completar la página he añadido dos capas de papeles detrás de la foto y cosí una gran estrella en la parte superior de los mismos. Luego añadí el título y algunos adornos que hicieran juego con los colores de los juguetes de mi sobrina en la foto. ¡Me encanta! Y realmente se está convirtiendo en toda una charlatana jeje

Home (Glitz Design CT)

Hello,

Today I bring you the last page that I created for Glitz Design. You probably already noticed that this is not my typical 12x12 layout. Instead, I created a 8x6 layout for my Summer Handbook. I love playing with different sizes lately and this one is really one of my faves. I love how the embellishments look so much bigger in comparison as the smaller size of the page make them stand out so much more. Don't you think?

So, I decided to place my photo on the top part of the page and fill the bottom space with a bunch of cute embellishments. I pulled out embellishments with kind of the same color palette as the one in the photo to make everything coordinate. 

I also added some gold here and there which I have noticed that I tend to use a lot lately (more than what I should for sure) too. 

Finally, I added my title at the bottom of the page among the other embellishments. At first, I thought about adding it right on top of the photo to make it stand out a little bit more. But in the end I felt like I didn't need a super big title as the photo already pretty much reflected how I felt at that moment.

Hoy os traigo la última página que he creado para Glitz Design. Probablemente ya os habréis fijado que este no es la típica página 12x12 que suelo emplear. En lugar de eso, esta vez, he creado un diseño de 8x6 para mi álbum del verano. Ultimamente me ha dado por jugar con diferentes tamaños y este es realmente uno de mis favoritos. Me encanta cómo los adornos se ven mucho más grandes en comparación debido al menor tamaño de la página lo que hace que destaquen mucho más. ¿No creéis? 

Así que decidí poner mi foto en la parte superior de la página y llenar el espacio inferior con un montón de adornos super monos. Elegí adornos con la misma paleta de colores que aparece en la foto para que todo coordinase. 

También he añadido un poco de dorado oro y que me he dado cuenta de que suelo tender a usarlo mucho (más de lo que debiera seguro) últimamente. 

Por último, he añadido mi título en la parte inferior de la página entre los otros adornos. Al principio, pensé en añadirlo a la derecha en la parte inferior de la foto para destacarlo un poco más. Pero al final sentí que no necesitaba un gran título ya que la foto lo dice todo.

Goslar (GlitzDesign CT)

Hello,

and welcome back for another Handbook spread created for Glitz Design. I am still finishing my album about this past summer although these pages may look a bit like a Fall spread due to the colors I chose and my clothes on the photos. Now I know that Summers in Germany could be quite short and you can not wait always for the perfect sunny day to travel around. Just get your jacket an umbrella and let's go!

I tried to keep a very soft palette with lots of shades of blue and white because I wanted to focus on the photos.  I also added some pop of orange to drive the attention on certain points.

It is a very simple spread with a lot of photos from our day trip to Goslar. And as I was running out of space to journal (due to the big sized photos I used), I added the "Take Note" sticker to have a little extra space to write something about that day.

I wanted to include the train ticket as well so I placed it behind one of the pockets, again due to the lack of extra space. I added a bright tab on top of it to peek out from the pocket so it could be pull out easily whenever I want.

y bienvenidos de nuevo a otro capitulo de Handbook creado para Glitz Design. Todavía estoy terminando mi álbum sobre el  verano a pesar de que estas páginas puedan parecer un poco otoñales debido a los colores que elegí y mi ropa en las fotos. Ahora sé que los veranos en Alemania pueden ser bastante cortos y no se puede esperar siempre al día soleado perfecto para viajar  Simplemente hay que coger la chaqueta, un paraguas y a la calle. 

Traté de mantener una gama de colores muy suave con una gran cantidad de tonos de azul y blanco porque quería centrarme en las fotos. También he añadido un poco de naranja para conducir la atención sobre ciertos puntos. 

Son unas páginas muy simples, con un montón de fotos sobre nuestro día en Goslar. Y claro al poner tantas fotos de tamaño completo me quede sin espacio para escribir. Así que, añadí la pegatina "Take Note" para tener un poco más de espacio extra para escribir algo sobre ese día. 

También quería incluir el billete de tren, así que lo puse detrás de uno de los bolsillos, de nuevo debido a la falta de espacio. He añadido una pestaña naranja en la parte superior del mismo para poderlo sacar fácilmente cuando quiera.

GO·SEE·DO (Scrapaddictes DT)

Hello there! 

Today I bring you another travel related page. I don't know for you but for me, summer equals travel, adventure and good times. It's the perfect time of year to take advantage of the sunny days to explore as the days are warmer and longer. Although traveling during the Spring or Autumn is such a good alternative as the prices are much cheaper and your wallet will thank you for that. ;)

But for those who are already looking for inspiration to scrap some photos of your last trip, here's a simple but perfect sketch to include more than one photo from that trip on a single page. As I wanted to include a big photos without overwhelming the page, I chose a 2x2 grid design alternating vertical and horizontal photos. So, by doing this it will all look very well organized and you will still have space on the sides for the journaling.  

After building the basic design, it is time for  the fun part... decorating the page! I used elements mainly from the collection of Elle's Studio called Shine, and also some items from  the Wanderlust and Basics collections by Studio Calico.

And of course that Scrapaddictes customizable badge which I painted with watercolors and once dry I stamped with a roller stamp from Studio Calico. Don't you love it?

¡Hola!

Hoy os traigo otra pagina relacionada con viajar. No se para vosotras pero para mi, verano es siempre sinónimo de viaje, aventura y buenos momentos. Es la época del año perfecta para aprovechar los días explorando ya que las temperaturas son mas cálidas y los días mas largos. Eso si, en primavera y otoño tampoco se viaja mal ¿eh? que ademas los precios son mucho más baratos y el bolsillo lo agradece. jeje

Pero para las que estéis ya deseando escrapear las fotos de vuestro último viaje, aquí tenéis una propuesta muy sencilla pero perfecta para incluir unas cuantas fotos de ese viaje en una sola página. Como quería incluir una tamaño grandecito / básico de fotos y no quería sobrecargar la página, he optado por un diseño de cuadrícula 2x2 alternando foto horizontal con vertical. Así queda todo bien ordenadito y me queda un poco de espacio para escribir.

Una vez construido el diseño básico ya sólo queda la parte divertida que es ¡decorar la página! He usado elementos principalmente de la colección de Elle's Studio llamada Shine, y también algunos artículos de las colecciones Basics y Wanderlust de Studio Calico. Y por supuesto esa chapa customizable de Scrapaddictes pintada con acuarelas y estampada con un roller stamp de Studio Calico. ¡Me encanta!
